To all:

We are Abbie's Peeps. We want to make the world a little bit better place, in honor of Abbie Catherine Waters.

Some of you might not know who Abbie is. She is 9 years old and a best friend to many of us. She died of cancer on April, 22, 2011, two days after her birthday. We miss her.

Abbie is a very sweet and kind girl. In memory of her we would lik

e all of you to do something kind. We are not asking for much. We just want you to do a small thing like being helpful to someone who is being bullied or allow someone to get in front of you in line or pick up some trash on the sidewalk. After you have done your Act of Kindness please post, or ask your guardian to post, a video or a written message on the "Abbie's Peeps" page on Facebook or if you do not have access to Facebook just email Abbie at AbbieWaters@aol.com.

If you are a legislator or a member of Congress or even the President of the United States we ask that you do a random Act of Kindness for someone of the other political party in honor of Abbie and post it to the “Abbie’s Peeps” facebook page or email it to: Abbiewaters@aol.com

Abbie’s Peeps will put all of the Acts of Kindness in her stocking by the fireplace for her parents. On Christmas morning, when her Mom and Dad would have opened gifts with Abbie, instead they will open and read the Acts of Kindness done in her name.
Please consider this Holiday wish.
Thank you for making a difference this Holiday Season.

Sincerely,

Abbie's Peeps:

Sometimes days are so crazy filled with emotions...this morning I woke up to a dream that I had taken a class as Holten on a field trip with several parents...but I was the leader...I turned around and the kids and parents were gone..two of the children were supposed to meet their parents at the airport after the field trip..the parents called and wanted to know where their children were......it was so terrifying...where were they.....I had failed in the most important job...caring for their children...

After the wierd dream...I painted the porch..thought of all the fun times I had with Abbie on that porch, including her first day of PRE-K pictures...

Blood Drive in Memory of Abbie

Our just nine-year-old friend Abbie Catherine Waters went to heaven on April 22, 2011
after a long, brave fight with cancer. Abbie was a third-grade student at Linwood Holton Elementary School
and in the Religious Education program at St. Paul’s Catholic Church. We miss Abbie and think of her often!

Please give blood in Abbie’s honor on SATURDAY MORNING, JUNE 9 between 9:00 A.M. AND 1:00 P.M. at St. Paul’s Church!
St. Paul’s is at 909 Rennie Ave. (at the corner formed by Chamberlayne Ave. and Rennie Ave.). The blood drive will take place in the parish religious education center, the small house just to your left as you enter St. Paul’s parking lot from Hawthorne Ave.

To sign up to give blood at a specific time please talk to Mary-Curtis Smart at Holton or contact Mary Kate Berglund (mk.berglund@verizon.net or 285-4368) at St. Paul’s. You may also come on Saturday without signing up in advance.

Your blood will help other children like Abbie, as well as adults, to receive the help they need to live as fully as possible.
Thank you for sharing your life!

T-Shirts Now Available

Abbie's Peeps T-shirt Fund is now live. Buy a T-shirt and $15 goes to the cancer clinic that took care of Abbie and her family. The T-shirts were designed by Abbie's friend Amyna based on stuff Abbie loved like: peace signs and the way she wrote her name and initials on everything. They are perfect and a fun way to raise awareness. http://bonfirefunds.com/alpha/funds/fund/8

Just found out that the journal I kept for Abbie most of her life has been deleted by AOL...it was an AOl journal that they discontinued supporting right in the middle of Abbie's treatment....I didn't find out until recently....Not sure what to do...it was at least seven years of her life.

Ok...I am officially a blogger, Mom, bereaved parent, and hopefully new Mom of an adopted child (soon).  This is one of my first posts.  I hope to create a page that tells our story as Abbie's Peeps...all of us...all of those who got the Abbie spirit.  I am not sure exactly how to do this but I figure I will learn along the way.  Abbie...my daughter, died two days after her 9th birthday...it was so hard for her when she learned one day before she died that she probably would die soon.  I still remember her scream "I don't want to DIE!!!!!"  Then the tears....oh the tears would just break your heart right open.  She loved living and being with her friends and her friends loved her.  She died on April 22, 2012...Good Friday, two days after her birthday and on her Pampa's birthday.  Oh...I miss her...so I have to stop writing right now as the tears are coming on strong.  Goodbye for now.
